Oxford Investment Opportunity Network Limited (OION Ltd) work with entrepreneurs and companies seeking to raise finance by connecting them with highly active potential investors (business angels), who frequently provide commercial experience and contacts, in addition to vital capital. OION Ltd operates the following three investment networks:
Oxford Investment Opportunity Network (OION) – established in 1994 as one of the UK’s first business angel networks. OION has a particular interest in companies with a strong barrier to entry, often patented; but will consider any company with a strong vision for growth and seeking investment from £200k to ~£2m.
Thames Valley Investment Network (TVIN) – established in 2003 targeting companies with a focus on first mover advantage and technology including FMCG, web, digital media and green-technology. Companies are typically seeking investment between £150k to ~£750k.
Oxford Early Investments (OEI) – established in 2004 and provides a wider range of early stage investment opportunities, often where management-level support in addition to investment is sought. Companies are typically seeking investment of £50k to ~£250k.
OION Ltd have also recently launched The OION Fund – a hybrid Fund that will be investing into both SEIS and EIS qualifying companies. In collaboration with strategic partner Innvotec, this is OION’s third Fund in as many years and builds on the success of the OION 2015 and 2016 SEIS Funds which made fourteen investments in early stage companies.
