Ecosystem General Manager, RocketSpace
Priya Guha is a senior career diplomat, who spent half her 20 year FCO career leading on European Union policy issues including EU treaty negotiations. She recently returned from San Francisco, where she worked as the first female British Consul General. She led the UK Government’s relationship with Silicon Valley for 5 years, working on policies to facilitate growth in the UK tech ecosystem and by directly supporting transatlantic business. During her five-year tenure in California, Priya worked closely with technology companies, and was also an active supporter of women in business, supporting global initiatives which include promoting UK female tech entrepreneurs in partnership with Silicon Valley Comes to the UK. Last year, Priya was granted a career break by the FCO to take up a role in London as Ecosystem General Manager for RocketSpace, a San Francisco HQ-ed company that helps tech entrepreneurs, high-growth startups and corporate innovators bring the future to market. RocketSpace’s new UK campus opened in Spring 2017. Priya is also a member of the InnovateUk board, a government ran organisation that supports tech innovation.
Priya’s career as a high level diplomat and senior figure in Silicon Valley has allowed her to develop a range of skills, spanning from EU policy expertise to an in-depth understanding of the tech sector, including the realm of fintech. She possesses extensive experience in tech policy and transatlantic business, giving her a unique perspective and insight into the world of financial services.
In her current role she is working with leaders from both the public and private sectors, as well as with international entrepreneurial organizations, including NatWest and other financial services, as well as the fintech scaleups disrupting the sector.
