Simon Thorpe is a qualified chartered accountant with 25 years of city experience. He has worked in equity research, sales and capital markets with major institutional investors and corporates across all sectors.
He is an angel investor, entrepreneur, coach, mentor and acts as non-executive director to and growth consulting with, technology companies. He runs his own business, Delta2020, is a senior advisor to Eleven Canterbury, a member of Cambridge Angels, Cambridge Capital Group (CCG) and Angel Academe. Simon is a Non-Executive Director to Viewranger and is the CCG appointed observer to Eagle Genomics. He is also part of the Manchester Tech Trust.
Simon has been an active angel investor in the UK technology sector, building up a portfolio of close to 30 companies, he has backed 10 female founders and to date has achieved six exits including Cambridge CMOS Sensors, CentraStage, Swiftkey and Vocal IQ.
He was awarded UKBAA Angel Investor of the Year 2016/17 and is a Fellow of Entrepreneurship at the Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS). Simon is also a mentor for CJBS’s Accelerate programme, Angel Academe’s female entrepreneur programme and the University of Manchester.
