Group Competitive Markets and Business Policy Director, Lloyds Banking Group
Stephen has been involved in banking and finance for SMEs and corporates for most of his 33 years in the industry having been responsible nationally for risk management, marketing, international services and training as well as management of local business centres. He leads communications, public affairs and policy at Group level and is also a member of Lloyds Banking Group SME and Mid Market’s executive board with responsibility for both Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland.
Stephen is a director of the UKBAA. Since January 2004, he has chaired the British Bankers’ Association SME Panel.
Since 2008, Stephen has also been chairman of PRIME Cymru, one of HRH the Prince of Wales’ charities, which works to help people over 50 in Wales to become economically active particularly by starting businesses.
Stephen read economics at University College London and has professional qualifications in banking and marketing. He lives in North Somerset and is married to Cordelia, a GP. They have three children.
